Rotors grooved
Does anybody know why the inside of the rotors are more grooved than the outside? I was looking at them today and there was a significant difference.

Actual cut grooves?

What exactly is a cut groove? When I run my finger over the inside of the front rotors (sorry should of specified earlier) there are multiple deep groove marks that go around the entire rotor. And on the outside piece of the rotor, the groves are much less severe. They are there but are not very deep. It's on both sides so I originally thought it was designed that way but I'm not sure anymore.

Re: Rotors grooved
yeah....I meant grooves that you can feel. Do you have any noise?

barish93 01-24-2013 09:01 PM

I do have some noise. And sorry for the long time in-between responses I was in class. It was just at the dealer and they said the pads were still good. I had the rotors/pads Replaced at 12,000 miles and I have 19,000 ok them now.

Re: Rotors grooved
the spots you speak of sound like hot spots. Were the rotors "bed in" at replacement? Sounds like the culprit

I don't think they were. Is it going to impair the braking performance?

Re: Rotors grooved
not really.....but they will make noise. You could try a bed in
