2005 wk hemi guzzeling gas?! 30+L/100km!

I recently bought a 2005 grand cherokee limited with a 5.7L hemi. I read online it's rated for 13MPG city which is about 18L/100km. However, I do all my driving in the city and usually get 25-30L/100km or even worse sometimes! that's less than 8MPG. The only thing I can mention is that one of the wheel speed sensors is faulty and sometimes causes the ABS/TCS lights to come on. I replaced one already but apparently that wasn't the faulty one because I still have the problem sometimes. However it almost never comes on driving in the city, it's usually only on the highway driving for an extended period of time, a half hour or more, that the abs/tcs lights appear. Can anyone suggest what might be causing this kind of torture at the pump??

I don't drive hard at all(unless every now and then I have to get into heavy traffic) but generally I take good care of my machine and do not drive it hard. I also haven't used the parking brake at all, and I just put new front rotors on but they do not rub, and the problem was there before the new rotors anyway. I had a 3.7l grand cherokee before and the 5.7l seems to have a whole lot more engine brake, and doesn't coast as easily/long as the 3.7. I expected this because of the bigger engine but it's a significant difference

The limited has 3:73 , so its a deeper gear ( more torque) great off the line but not a good at coasting. Lol.

bad O2 sensors will also put your fuel consumption through the roof.

Have you changed your exhaust recently? Sometimes the o2 sensors will go just by taking them out and putting them back in. This happened to me on my 96, went from 23mpg on the highway to 12mpg, replaced the 02 sensors and it went back up to what it was before. better actually.

I would think this would pop a code ? Do you have any other codes beside the abs light?
I agree though, I had one go bad on a wrangler and it was dumping gas bad
