Shudder/TC/TQ Mgmnt

Local dealer told me last week that a new solution/TSB for the shudder will be release by Chrysler "sometime in February". For those of you suffering from this, might check in with your service tech in the next few weeks. Mine has 13 open cases for this issue, that is not counting the others like myself waiting for a fix without an open file.

Forgot, this is for the 5.7L

Any News? +1

I've had the same issue for over a year and keep getting the same answer 'It's Normal'. I can't believe that Jeep isn't getting more heat about this. I'm anxious to see if this 'Feb fix' will make a difference. Please report when it is released and I'll be the first in line at the Dealership to have it installed.

Email sent to service tech today. Will keep you apprised. I am guessing this will be more towards the end of the month.

Nothing released yet. Was informed it could be tomorrow, it could be two weeks, it could be March.

I am getting my tire size prgrammed in however as apparently the pinion factors are very sensitive and running oversized tires without programming the size into the computer can result in some of the other issues I am having with my trans/shift points aside from the shudder. Just FYI.

Shudder software not available yet. Had the following updated flashes performed yesterday - the PCM flash did address some of the trans issues I was having. Note - tire size cannot be entered by the dealer. Sets off the ABS. Handheld apparently is only way to do this on the WK2.

- TSB 18 050 11 - powertrain control module
- TSB 08 034 12 - Air suspension module for QL (Jeep would go into OR level 2 on its own).
- TSB 08 005 13 - power lift gate

I will have to look back at my dealer records but the TSB update I got cured my shudder but killed my MPG

My MPG sucks regardless. City is 11.5, highway averages between 17 and 18. My WK1 SRT8 bested both of those. 285s aren't helping with the 340 gears, but still should do better than than that on highway, especially when my highway driving rarely sees speeds above 65. Good thing I don't really care. I don't own these with economy in mind and I sleep just fine at night.

UPDATE - on Feb 21 Chrysler announced the updated TSB/flash was under development and had a projected release date of July. This is for 2011-2013 5.7L. So, accordingly, we may have our shudder problem fixed by December.
