Mileage comes into being a big factor with these jeeps. Especially when they have the 5.7L. One of the first mods I did was put on a catch can and clean my stock intake. This is a must for all WK hemi owners. If it has more than 60,000 miles you might want to check the pcv valve and egr, usually those start to give out or don't get replaced regularly. A good Seafoam treatment would also help with the mpg. If you're looking for performance mods, getting a bored out 85mm throttle body and a tuner would be your best bet along with a custom/catback exhaust. I'm sure others will throw their input in as well. Lots of options with these vehichle's, wether you're looking for more offroad or more street. There's plenty of info on here if you just start searching. Congrats on the new WK! And don't worry about switching to the other side, you'll like it here

Catch can you say? These 5.7's like oil? These motors like one brand over the other? I am contemplating a corsa exhaust, have had those on my vettes in the past, love the sound

The 5.7L is notorious for getting gummed up without proper maintenance, but with a proper catch can from Billet Technology and a good cleaning or change out of the stock TB you will be golden. I use a full synthetic changed at every 5,000 miles. I don't think brand will make too much of a difference as long as you make sure its of good quality. And the corsa exhaust sounds like a great plan, anything to get rid of that dumb stock resonator... Make sure you talk to flyin' ryan about the TB, he can also hook you up with a tuner and custom tuning also.

Excellent, I will have to invest in one. I am always on the road, have a 50 mile commute round trip. Have a race car, and a boat to tow. So a proper running motor is key for me.

Mods I want to do if some of you guys can point me in the right direction. I have been searching on the forum for an hour and a half now and have no luck.

I want to upgrade to the OEM projectors, thus far I see it can be done, but nothing on if harness has to be changed or if its just plug and play and remove replace.

I also want to do a cold air, with the corsa exhaust I plan on ordering here shortly.

Tuning and TB mentioned in a thread above, has me curious.

I also want to get rid of those awful wheels, gunmetal grey srt's are in the future. As well as getting rid of the chrome trim. My last truck had a ton of chrome and I'm just over all that LOL.

Also need to tint the windows, non tinted in Florida is DEATH.

I think that's all for now. I'm sure I will find other things to spend money on

That sounds like a solid starting plan. Here's some info to start with:

1. Projectors: There's a few threads out there about custom installs, Omelet's build thread and Scottina06's build thread would be your best options for step by step instructions.

2. Cold air intake is one of those toss ups. You can lose a lot of low end torque with one. I have a AFE stage 2 on mine, many others have a volant or bwoody. The bwoody is the only one known for increasing power. I love the way it sounds but did lose some low end torque, the Superchips tuner helped me a lot to fix that. I also wanted one for the looks. Many people would argue that you'd be better off keeping the stock box and using a K&N filter.

3. A tuner and upgraded throttle body would be your best option for more power. It's the best bang for your buck. You can either have one custom ported by flyin' ryan or buy one from modern muscle that doesn't need a tune to operate efficiently.

4. Make sure you don't buy offset wheels (larger in back than front). That way they can be rotated.

5. Definitely tint the front windows!! I have 18% on my front windows, and it matches the rear almost perfectly. Yes it is illegal, but looks like it originally came that way. And you may look at the key fob trick, there's a way to press the unlock button once, then hit it again and hold it down for a few seconds and your front windows will roll down. It really helps disperse heat out on a hot summer day! :D
