Upgrade '11 WK2 to "14?

Hi Everyone,

I currently have a 2011 WK2 overland V8 and I just love it, however I will admit that there is something about the '14 that I find just stunning.

My WK2 is in pristine condition, garage kept and only has 17k miles on it also though my company I am able to get new Jeeps a invoice minus 3%. My understanding is that the biggest difference between the two are

new 8speed tranny
Updated styling
new Media Center with 8.4" touchscreen
Same V8 engine in both?

Other then what I have listed here are there any other compelling reason to upgrade? My assumption is that I will have a very healthy trade in (my WK2 is paid off) and with my discount, I should be able to get into a 14 for not too much out of pocket.

Thoughts?

Thanks I appreciate it
Mashie

Yes, no more orangish colored wood. I'm thinking about doing the same. I want to switch from frost beige to black interior. I thought the frost beige looked better with the wood than the black did on the 2012s. AND because the lower rocker panels and fascias are now smooth and painted body color on the new Overland, plus it looks really great too.

My thoughts are that you will find yourself at the dealership soon! The seed has been planted.

A LOT of reasons. Not only does the 2014 interior make the 11-13's look dated already, but the new tranny, sweet headlights and taillights, improved fuel economy, etc etc. I can't wait to try out the new adaptive cruise that brings you all the way to stop.

Since you are not sure, I'd suggest waiting until the dealers have some on the lots to look at. Then you will be sure, one way or the other.

You're going to be disappointed with the cruise control as stop & go was put off and is not available in the 2014 MY

Am I the only one who's not sold on how well the '14 with the 8-speed and the hemi will perform with the 3.09 rear end?

I'm wondering if that's not a misprint. In the pdf they list the 3.09 for the crd on one line, and a few lines down they list it with 3.54.

A 3.09 and 7400# towing capacity just seem mutually exclusive to me. But what do I know

I thought that at first as well. Maybe it is, who knows? I was just going off what wk2jeeps had for the 2014 specs. See below. This would indicate to me that maybe the v6 will have a lot more punch not to mention the diesel.

Front
Differential Type Conventional
Availability Standard on 4x4 models
Ring Gear Diameter 7.7 (195)
Axle Ratios 3.45:1 V-6 and EcoDiesel; 3.09:1 V-8
Rear

Availability Standard on all engines
Ring Gear Diameter 8.4 (215) 3.6-liter 4x4 engine, 8.9 (225) 5.7-liter engine, EcoDiesel & 3.6-
liter 4x2 engine
Axle Ratios 3.45:1 V-6 and EcoDiesel; 3.09:1 V-8
