May have found a cheap solution for anti chrome

Going to try my hand at this:

Looks to only be $30-$60 to get rid of all the chrome, and can be pulled off and go back to stock in a matter of minutes

Going to put that on my new jeep

He did only use the vinyl on the window molding from what I remember.

Door trim and door handles will get vinyl wrapped in Matt black too. You can't see in the above pictures clearly but the roof rails have also been painted black.

EDIT: and the exhaust tip is also painted black :D

Just ordered a set of Gorilla "The System" Acorn style black lug nuts

Looks nice. Similar to plasti dip?

Same 'result' in looks, but the plasti dip is a temporary solution and must be applied (renewed) in defined intervals. I prefer the permanent solution as the wheels are now black; it would look odd if for whatever reason I didn't have access to plasti-dip and it peeled off.

I was initially going to go down the vinyl approach for the front grill/side trim etc. but was advised against it as the corners on the grill are too deep to stretch the vinyl in using one piece, so you would end up having to make cuts and join multiple pieces that dip inside the curves of the grill. Also the grill gets quite hot so you would really need a very decent vinyl that can withstand that kind of heat.

My advice would be to sand down and paint everything :D

I have had plasti dip on mine for well over a year now and it still looks brand new
