Reunited with an old friend today

I took my Summit in for service this morning. As I was driving in, red calipers caught my eye from the showroom floor. I knew right away what it was (they have had a few in the showroom the last few months). Funny, I could not wait to be finished with my service guy so I could run into the showroom and sit in the SRT8. He tells me it is used and the regional rep out of Cincinnati had been driving it. So, I walk fast and jump in. My excitement was quickly dashed as it smelled so bad like smoke I could hardly sit in it. I look up and see, no pano and I am thinking (after having a pano on the Summit) what kind of a knucklehead would order an SRT with out a sun roof. Then it hits me, when I originally ordered mine I did not get the pano(yes I'm a dope). Then I remember I did not order the tow package, so I run back and...no tow package. They have the carfax on the dash and it was originally delivered to The dealer in Delaware Ohio I had ordered it from. I take a picture of the VIN so I can look when I get back to the office. Sure enough there she is.

The smell of smoke was overwhelming or I would consider...

What are the chances? bummer to hear someone ruined it by smoking in it. Hard to get that smell out.

Just a little hint if you cut an Apple in half and put it in the car overnight it will take a large amount of that smell out...repeat and it will get better, maybe not all gone but almost

Think Outside !- No Box Required.

The smoke smell can be removed completely with a simple ozone treatment. My local detail shop gets $75 and it works perfectly though it does take take about 5 hours to do correctly. Most dealers have access to a unit, it's surprising this one doesn't.

I have heard of the ozone treatment but I have never heard of half an apple.
I got a big kick out of sharing the experience with you guys.:)
I have told the story to others and I get this blank stare like I am a dope for liking autos so much.
