Please help!!! ipod classic and 430n
Hey guys this is my first post!!!
I just bought a limited 13 with 430n mygig... I have two ipod classics one is 80gb anf the other 120gb neither work properly (the browse button that you use to change playlist, artist, genre, etc does not appear); furthermore, it will play songs of the playlist where left off before connecting to mygig... Its frustrating to have to disconnect it, change the playlist on the ipod, and then connect it again...

EDIT: I just tried an 8gb ipod touch and it worked fine

Re: Please help!!! ipod classic and 430n
I have tried with varying success to use older classic ipods, but it required the latest apple software updates and sometimes when plugging the unit back into the JGC a mating period took some time. IME, the best bet is to update to a new ipod and retire the older units to kids, second vehicle, etc if possible.

Other more tech saavy than yours truly will chime in here perhaps with better input.

and the most weird thing is that sometimes it works when i change to bluetooth stream and then back to ipod, but most of the time it does not...i just checked that my classic ipods are updated to the latest fw...someone in this forum posted that the cable that i am using to connect to the port in the armrest might be too long

Re: Please help!!! ipod classic and 430n
I use an ipod classic connected via USB in the center console. It is updated to the most current software. It works well for the most part, I am able to find and play whatever song or playlist I am looking for.

But I am continually surprised as to what starts playing everytime I start the car. Sometimes it starts at song #1 on the whole ipod library. Sometimes it starts at song #1 on the particular playlist I was listening to last. Sometimes it starts on the album I was listening to. Sometimes shuffle is on, sometimes it is off (regardless of what the little shuffle icon on the screen says). Sometimes it's not even the ipod, it's sirius. I don't think it has ever actually continued playing the song that was last playing when I turned the car off.

I have tried leaving it playing when turning the car off, pausing it before turning the car off, turning the radio off, and none of it seems to make any difference. It's so annoying when I have to make several short trips throughout the day, and everytime I get back in the car I have to go through a ritual of buttons and voice commands just to get back to the music set I was enjoying.

Ok end rant. Sorry for the thread hijack.

I'm pretty sure this is just the way uconnect works, no way to fix it. But mooshead's post did make me think... I wonder if a new ipod touch would solve these issues? Might have to borrow one and try it. Even then, they are limited to 64gb I think, about half of what my ipod classic will hold.

Well at least you can search and select your playlist and artist... I can not :( ... I have to do it through the ipod and then connect again... It is dangerous while driving
