I am pretty dissapointed with the amount of jeep bashing that this forum is degrading into. I've been a member here for 18 months and one of the early wk2 australians. There have been a few members who have had every right to be negative but are still generally positive. Thank you to those contributors who have helped me and others obtain invaluable information and those striving to make this product better like adamt's most recent work.

Im tired of trivial complaints. Lets not forget how lucky we are to have a very capable vehicle at a fraction of the cost of some of its competitors with much more bling even at the base level.

If you don't like it, sell it, and leave this forum for people who love this car and want to share information and their experiences, (good and bad).

Here, here Mendo!
The WK2 is one of the most exciting vehicles I've driven
It has no more faults or problems than any other brand, ( just look at the recalls Toyota is having )
It's unfortunate that a lot of people only get on a forum when they have a problem!
I still find myself wanting to drive our 2011 Laredo CRD every day and loving it, and then I can take it off road too, this is where it really surprises me, our previous vehicle was a Nissan navara, 4" lift front locker, 3" exhaust, DP Chip plus other toys
Our GC will go any where the Nav would and I suspect further, with much more comfit and way more style!.
I keep pointing it at things off road thinking " I won't make it up that!" The next thing I'm at the top thinking that was easy what next!.
The WK2 ROCKS!!, long live the WK2

Re: Boring
Not sure if this is the first internet forum you've been on but 90% of the time that's what happens.

People don't go trolling the net becuase they love something, they go looking when they have concerns/problems and what solutions.

Go to,, and see how many people are negative and gripe about their cars.

For every person that gets on here or any other forum and bashed their Jeep/vehicle there are 20 of us (I stress the us part) that love the car to pieces.

It's like customer satisfaction surveys. If you bought your lovely wife a new Dyson from Harvey Norman and got great service and it worked as described you'd more than likey throw the survey out when it came in the mail. On the other hand, let say your service was terrible and the new Dyson is playing up... Bet that survey gets filled in with red pen and mailed back the next day... See where I'm going with this???

I'm jumping in mine tomorrow morning to go to Melbourne (from Brisbane) and back this week. I couldn't tell you how much I'm looking forward to getting in it after 8 years in a 4.2 turbo diesel Nissan Patrol (which I still have and will never sell) I probably wont start a thread when I get back praising the car either, because who'd reply to it??? Bit of whoopdy doo Basil and on you go to the next thread.

Re: Boring
Yep, Been a member for a while myself, seems some people ain't happy unless they can find something to whinge to the dealer about.... Mine may not have been perfect but it is far and away the best car I've owned, a new car with personality, who'da thought! 94,000km, nearly out of warranty and I'm not worried none.....Brave huh!

Re: Boring
I have plenty I could whinge about, but I am too busy enjoying all the things that are great about my car.

 GOOD FOR HIM!! That was awesome! Don't know if I would have attempted that in my GC as thats what the TJ is for. However, his passengers were no doubt surfing the net in climate controlled goodness while doing this. Where, in the TJ, I'm lucky if the CB keeps working!

Re: Boring
I Love/Like my Jeep. It basically checks most of the boxes.
However, I find that the arrogance of the distributor is not to my liking. There are issues, such as Navigation, Sand, and Overheating lights. Other than that, I really do not have any gripes. BUT, until the distributor acknowledges these issues, and fixes them, I will continue to air my dissatisfaction. If I did not join that small chorus, you can bet that Jeep Australia will continue to ignore those issues and do nothing to rectify them.
Foe example, do you really think the MY12 Tow Hook removal would have received any recognition by Jeep Australia if the matter had not been pressed here?
Also, This is not a JEEP LOVERS society. It is a JEEP FORUM for all types of discussion, whether that be good or adverse.

Re: Boring
^+1. I had every right to whinge about the issues with mine, however, I am the optimist, cars fixed up, Albion is really fair and reasonable with other minor things like burnt DRL's and right now, life behind the wheel is perfect. I for one have found this forum not only a wealth of knowledge for mods and tweaks etc, but also offers a place where you can get that friendly reassurance from other members and offer the same in return.

Re: Boring
I've had a couple of problems but still love the Jeep. I do agree with Mendo that 90% of us here do not want or have negativity towards the brand.
What I do really appreciated is the information and advice from members on this forum. In particular, if it were not for this forum I would probably be stuck in the sand somewhere with the serv 4wd error, and no front tow hook to get me out!
Thanks everyone I really value the information here.

Re: Boring
I have a few minor issues but overall I love the car. My biggest gripe is that there is so little information and no one to ask. Sure, Chrysler know everything about the vehicle but they aren't telling. They want the owners to ask the dealers so that the dealers educate themselves by trial and error at the owners expense. I lament the days when I could buy a workshop manual that would tell me all there was to know about my car.

Re: Boring
Had my Overland Hemi 4x4 in the shop for a week. I got a rental, a 2013 loaded top trim level GMC Terrain and the body shop and Enterprise thought they did me some huge favor. While I appreciated not getting a car, I had to fight for what I did get as a rental. The word comparable vehicle was used. When I turned in the keys to the body shop they asked me how it was. I said it doesn't compare at all to my Jeep, but I appreciated a vehicle that was easy to get in and out of since I'm 6'4 and dealing with headaches, neck and back pain from being rear ended. What I was thinking was, what a piece of junk that Terrain was, and thank God I get me Overland back good as new. Longest week I've had in a while. :)
