1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Steering Issues
i'm looking for some help here. when i turn my wheels while the car is turned on, everything seems to act normal, then put it in drive, and when i take my foot off the brake i make it about <2 feet before the is a hesitation (not from the engine) but physical hesitation coming from what i suspect is my passengers side front wheel. i can onyly describe the hesitation as sounding like that wheel is not turning in conjunction with the drivers side wheel. another couple feet of movement, and i can hear wheel adjusting abruptly, as if it is sliding. when i drive straight (only tried it up to 30mph) there is no sounds, except a slight metal on metal sound. any direction/next steps/ advice for me would be greatly appriciated.

Re: 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Steering Issues
Do you have a Quadra drive jeep? This sounds as if there is a lack of limited slip additive in the differential. When you then make a turn, the Vari-Lock inside the diff will lock up after a short distance and both front wheels are locked together, which ofcourse will give problems, because the inner wheel in a turn travels less then the outer. The limited slip additive will prevent a full lockup and allows for the necessary small speed difference of both front wheels.
When not serviced lately, then do a full fluid service on both differentials. Look at the old fluid that comes out and measure the quantity as well, to see if the level was more or less ok. Also check the fluid for metal shavings.
