WK2 Headers
Does anyone know of any company that makes shorty headers for the 5.7 Hemi? I reached out to American Racing but I don't want to spend $1,800 on headers and midpipes. Shorty header is the way I would like to go. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!!!

Re: WK2 Headers
Seems that the WK2 has so little engine compartment clearance no one wants to tackle it. All I've seen is custom $tuff and many of those fabricators say don't come back... :)

Re: WK2 Headers
I am actually at American racing in ny trying to see if they would be willing to tackle the hemi headers. They already make them for the srt8. I'll report back when I'm done. Maybe the idea of a group buy or something will entice them!!!

Re: WK2 Headers
Couldn't help it, so I pulled the trigger!!! Went to AR and spoke to the owner, Nick. Great guy. Very friendly and straight forward. I made an appointment to get the headers done next Wednesday. They put my hemi on the lift and determined they can use the same headers as they currently make for the SRT8. I will try to post up a video before headers go on and after. Car already has a Corsa catback and I am getting 1 3/4 headers and midpipes.

Re: WK2 Headers
Do you have to worry about inspection in NY? The headers and high flow cats will probably trigger a CEL, which you can easily have a tuner get rid of by turning off the O2 sensors, but that won't help at inspection time in states where they do OBD2 checks.

Re: WK2 Headers
O2 sims required or simply tune out the codes? What's the cost on the header set up they offer? Thanx in advance!

Re: WK2 Headers
It's pricy. $1800 for headers and mid pipes, installation included. But American racing and Kooks are top of the line. When I get the custom tune I can account for the headers by adding fuel at WOT, but for now I will simply erase the codes. The owner assured me I can drive the car for 100000 miles and it will not detonate the engine.

Re: WK2 Headers
there is no reason the srt8 parts will not work. the exhaust port is close to the same dimensions as the srt8 exhaust port on the apache heads.

you might need some minor adjsutments on the rest of your 5.7 system to get it to mate up correctly but they can get that done easy

Re: WK2 Headers
I really haven't been able to get out there. I've been so swamped at work but I am estimating that I will get this done within the next couple of weeks. I will update you guys accordingly.
