Starting up a 10% 2mi grade

just got my Wife a 2001 Grand Cherokee L 4.0L
May be lame but...
On the way home from town we have a 2 mi 10 % grade that we have to go up from pretty much a stop.
? is.. I know the Overdirve should be off, but should i start this grade in L2 then go to D or just Drive? or just L2 and keep it slow?
Thank you for your response

no reason to turn od off youll never get going fast enough for it to engage

Does seem to help hold gears longer with it off though, at least in my experience my jeep (and everything else) does less hunting for gears with od off when driving in hills.

Yes, with OD off the tranny will not engage 4th gear, so there will be less hunting. It can apply the torque converter clutch in 3rd (with OD off), and will release it again when accelerating or going onto a steeper grade, which will give an rpm increase and the feeling that the tranny shifted gear. It eventually will shift gear when the required acceleration is higher or the grade bigger.
So just keep the tranny in Drive and if its hunting for gears, you can just switch OD off.
