HOW TO install HID fogs

i purchased my fogs from tony and they arrived in the mail today.

i wanted them on quickly even though it is only 20 degrees out. thankfully the fogs are a simple install and only one tool is needed,
a ratchet to remove the negative battery terminal.

after reading some tips from other users i did not remove the bumper cover, but after doing the install i wish i would have. my jeep was covered in salt and it kept falling in my eyes as i bumped the cover with my arms.

first you have to remove the old bulbs by turning them counter-clockwise one quarter turn.

then you remove the bulb from the harness by poping the clip off of the bulb housing.

next i put the new bulb in by turning it clockwise one quarter turn. make sure the smallest tab on the bulb goes on the top or else they will not seal properly.

next i found a mounting location for my ballast, which since i did not remove the bumper was the only spot i could find. (when i get my low beam set i will properly mount the ballasts while the bumper cover is off)

next you connect the ballast to the bulb and the ballast to the male connection from the car foglight harness. after this i ziptied the wires to the frame and did the other side the same way.

after that i reconnected the negative terminal and fired up the lights. i have a 2006 and there was no flickering without a relay so i guess i lucked out. i will post some more pics tonight to show what they look like at night.

thank you! i actually got the idea of switching in the winter and summer from one of your posts. i had them on in the snow tonight and they were great. now i just have to decide on 4300k or 5000k for the lows. i was leaning toward 4300k but now i like the 5000k after seeing all of the pics everyone posted.
