Trying to decide: 20" wheels vs 18"

So I picked up my 4x4 Overland, gray, almost two weeks ago, and I'm trying to decide whether I want to keep the stock Overland wheels and paint them a dark gray (I don't think the color they are now matches well) or if I wanna get some new 18" wheels. I would get new tires either way. My major concern with the 20s is not having as much sidewall on the tires, afraid I might scratch up my wheels.
Here are the wheels I have

And here are the ones I'm looking at getting, keeping with a somewhat stock look that I like (would also get spacers)

Thanks for the input!

Hate those 18s. Love the 20s, keep 'em. Everyone on this website agrees, you'll see...

First - Congrats on your new Jeep! There are a few members on here that have put the 18's you referenced on their Jeeps so you may want to do search for these. I was considering the same 18's and several members said don't do it... If that tells you anything. My choice would be to keep your existing wheels, get new tires and paint. Just my opinion- but you did ask :D

I will trade you the stock 18's on the limited 14 for those...what you think?

I'm actually trying to get Overland with ORA2 just to get 18" wheels. A little bit of extra rubber will not hurt. Take a look at tire rack and see what choices you have with 20" tires vs 18". It is very hard to find a decent tire for 20".

Looks like I'm in minority though ...

The 20's make the Jeep. When I see a grand cherokee going down the road with those 20" 5 spoke wheels it just looks great. If I see one with the smaller wheels it just doesn't look like the high end model to me. There is still a good amount of sidewall on that 20" setup. I mean I guess unless you do some insane offroading then I would maybe be concerned, but if you just drive on streets and are worried about scratching them then I would start to think its time to improve your driving skills :-)

I'm just not all too crazy about the look of not so much tire. Does anyone have pics of a good tire on the stock 20s? Spacers?

Oh I'm not too worried about rubbing up against any curbs or anything, I used to drive a crew cab F150 so the GC is definitely easier to handle haha

I don't know ... They look badass to me, way better than 20".
