Front Bumper Faschia/Cover removal question

2 Attachment(s)
Going to be replacing my front upper/lower bumper faschia/cover soon.

Read the following thread started by pbalias which describes how to do this very well:

http://www.jeepgarage.org/f156/how-t...avy-20481.html

Curious about removing the two pop rivots under the fender flare. After I cut them off what do I need to do to replace them. I saw Harbor Freight had a plastic pop rivot gun (came with black plastic pvc rivots) as well as the normal rivot gun. I assume I could just use the plastic pop rivot gun?? Can I use a different type of fastener?

Here is a pic of the pop rivot before removal:

Also is this 90 degree twist clip re-usable:

Just trying to make sure I have backups of all potential clips before I attempt to replace the cover.

to answer the second question yes it is reusable not sure about the first but i do think the Harbor Freight tool could be used.

You can buy new rivets at the dealer, although they are quite expensive compared to aftermarket. I bought a rivet gun with a bag of rivets on Amazon and I think they are pretty close if not identical to what Harbor Freight has. Measure one of the cut rivets (mainly diameter of the rivet) and I bet you will find the identical one in the HF Kit.

listen to me... lol
clipsandfastners has 25 rivets for less than $10 and they are self tapping.
no rivet gun needed and are identical to OEM

Can you provide a link to what you are talking about?

Here is the exact rivot needed but needs rivot gun:

1/4 Nylon Blind Rivets 5/32-13/32 Grip

Why do you say "no rivet gun needed"?
