Hmmmm the first idea that pops into my head is to cut the cable going from the uconnect module to the usb in the arm rest. Then splicing in a USB connector into the wire you just cut. Then plugging that into the cable coming out from the headunit. Does that make sense?

Re: arm rest usb
I don't know that I'd want to get involved with "splicing" USB cables...

I was thinking more of pulling out the USB port and sticking another one in thinking something like white cable vs the black one. Just running a longer USB cable.

Just want to try and utilize the factory spot and keep wires hidden

Re: arm rest usb
Take care that the total length of cabling from the head unit to the port is less than four meters. There's a hard limit of five meters for the end-to-end cable, and you'll want to allow a meter for the iPod cable that connects to the arm rest jack.
