Advice on scratch on rear bumper

1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys, so today I noticed a pretty big scratch(es) on the plastic bumper on my wk2, probably from the car wash and its annoying me. Can i do anything to remove the scratch off that plastic?

I'd try some mothers back to black to at least help it be less obvious

I had a crack in mine from an accident. My dealer quoted me about $200 to replace the black plastic part. Not a bad option either.

find the highest gritt sandpaper.
to wet sand it very very lightly
then use some back to black

then some wax and polish to buff it out.

try buffing it with rubbing compound first* <---------------------

yep...not much you can do on the tectured black plastic. Detailedimage.com has some nice dressing products that will "help" to hide the scratches a little. I think the best advice here is to stay away from automated carwashes with those brushes etc.

303 Aerospace Protectant has done a pretty decent job for me of fading scratches like that on black trim. 303 Aerospace Protectant 32oz

I've been using it for about a year. I regularly wipe down pretty much anything that is black with it, interior and exterior.

This is going to sound crazy... But I have had good results fixing both a lightly scratched glove box door in my old truck as well touching up scratches in the plastic bed cap rails on my current pickup.

Get yourself a little pocket butane torch. Fire it up. Now, very lightly feather the flame over the scratch at a safe distance and keep it moving. Just lick the scratch with the tip of the flame.

The plastic will soften and basically heal itself to the point the scratch disappears.

That's a good deal. I think they raised their direct purchase price on their own site since 303 was acquired by Gold Eagle because I don't ever remember paying that much.
