Ipac adapter adapter

So I installed the ipac adapter about a month ago. That was a pretty straight forward install, especially after reading about it in several posts.

Matt, I believe, gave me the idea to drill a hole into the black wallet holder at the bottom of the bezel. That worked great I had a wire that could connect to any mp3 player or laptop or whatever I felt the need to hear through the Jeeps system.

Unfortunately, the wire was very difficult to push back into the dash, so it was always just kind of hanging around the passenger seat. That really bothered me so I've started a project. The hard part is done now... I think. Take a look at whats happened so far.

All the soldering is finished and I've tested the connection with my home stereo. Everything sounds great. Tomorrow I will remove the radio bezel again and drill a small hole in one of the buttons next to ESP Control and the heat warmers. I believe there are three or so empty ones there since I do not have the rear park assist.

Pictures of the finished product will be here soon!

Alright, project is finished, and tested! Sounds awesome still, and in my opinion looks a lot cleaner than having a random wire floating around the passenger seat. My real camera is dead at the moment so these are phone pics. Don't have any of it in the jeep yet, but you can get the point from these.

View from behind the dash. Not as clean as I would have liked it, but not terrible either. Having the circuit board run all the way across this button pad made it a little tricky to wire through. I just cut a small hole into the bottom of the plastic and avoided the situation completely

From the front it just looks like an aux in that you see on cars all the time now anyway.

Which Radio Were you wiring this up to?

Re: Ipac adapter adapter

This was to my stock 6disc am/fm player. REF i think?? I'm not up on all the radio terms. I bought the PAC IPAC-CHY ipod interface kit for Chrysler vehicles. So the aux in is really wired to the Ipac, not so much the radio

Multi disk changer, sounds like a RAQ. The iPAC-CHY will not work with the REF (single disk head unit).
