The shifter light asssy is an electroluminescent light plate, so there is no light bulb that you could replace. Not sure if a coloured plastic foil on top of the light plate would do any good (also not sure if this is possible, never had my shifter assy apart).

You can either take the old ones out and solder new ones in or disable the old ones and run a light strip.

Where would I get a light strip and what wires would I connect it to the same ones the old one is connected too I think it was the black and blue one

The original light plate is fed with 400V AC. There is a small inverter connected to it, which supplies the 400V. So don't use this wires.

Maybe that a colored led lightstrip would work, but you need to use the 12V input from the inverter and not the 400 V output.
