Upgrade to 8.4in screen?

Does anyone know if it's even possible (fit wise) to upgrade to the new nav screen? I have the 730n in my alpine with the smaller screen. Regardless of the size, I am really unhappy with how it has been working. I'm even considering aftermarket screen.

Wow I have the 730n in my ram and I really like it (i would love the 8.4 screen) but i am happy with it as is....i dont think you can put in just the screen in the 13 aftermarket seems like the only option...

Mine freezes at least once a week and its the most update software. Plus some button don't show up when playing music thru USB or Bluetooth. Maybe I just need a new one.

Sounds like you got a bad head unit, id go try to get a new one under warranty before purchasing an aftermarket that might be even worse...

the new 8.4 uconnect 2 in the 14's uses an entirely different electrical architecture. Maybe someone with electrical skillz will figure it out in the future.

My only issue/dislike with the "old unit" in my 2012 and 2010 is the process of getting the song or artist I want to listen to. Maybe I am missing something, but I wish there was a voice activation search function as opposed to hitting the touch screen to scan through artist/title/genre/favorites.

agreed, but i just found it faster to find it on my phone instead of going through the radio itself...

You guys have any issues with buttons not showing up? Like this? I'm missing the fast forward and rewind button. And two buttons on the bottom right. Usually only happens with Bluetooth

I think with Bluetooth you have to do FF/Rew on the device.

you CANNOT change the 8.4 into any vehicle ever unless it was made from the factory with the 8.4" , my family owns a dealership, i have a wk2 srt and i work in the parts department. i have asked chrysler this questio for myself and my customers and thats the response we got, due to exactly what scott said, they are made with an entirely different wiring harnesss and electrical B.S.

lol well since that's the case do me a favor, order me one for a 2014 SRT and I'll do the work to make it boot and work. Then we can make a kit.
