What lift/tire size to go with?????

I have a stock 06 WK and it's that time for me to be getting new tires, so I thought I should lift the Jeep since it's great timing.

I was wondering what lift kit (brand and size) and what tire size would be the best combination so I will not have to use spacers. I will be posting some pics of the Jeep when I get home tonight.

Thanks.

My JK gets lifted on Monday...

3.25" Rough Country lift
35" Nitto Trail Grappler tires
AEV Front steering kit
Using stock Sahara rims so I got the 1.25" spacers

Will post pics of it next week

I am also going to be keeping the stock rims with it also.

Any help would be great.

mine is the same as your go with this:

superlift 4inch kit

tires without spacers would leave you with stock option tires only most likely

i got MT baja crawls 33x12.5x17 on my stock wheels but had to get spacers

I say, get spacers and keep the wheels.

How big of a tire = how big of a lift you get. How much are you wanting to spend? It'll be about a grand to mount and balance the tires +tires. OME lift is about 780-800 shipped then few hours for a shop to install it.... there is a grand there. Superlift 4" is a 2K kit and it'll cost abit to install it since its requires welding and cutting.

What about an OME 2.25" or a Rough Country 2" lift? Either one of these seems to be pretty easy work to put on and fairly inexpensive. Just wondering what size tires I can get on the WK with this sort of lift?

I already have the tire brand picked out and I will have them mounted and an alignment done. Just looking at what size I can get with that sort of lift so I don't have to put on spacers.

The biggest tire you can go with is 285/70/17 or 33"x11.5"x17". You'll have to do the fold pinch weld mod and trim the bolt on the upper arm there to fit that size AND you'll def have to get 1.5inch spacers.

Well if that is the case, would I be able to stuff in a 255/70/17 without any major work?

mmm... It might be possible. If your tire shop is cool, have them mount the two front tires and set it down and go lock to lock and see.

Re: What lift/tire size to go with?????

Ok, I will have to check with them, but I was wondering which one of these tires would be better for my WK, Greneral Grabber AT2 or the Firestone Destination AT. I can get really good deals on both of them, but wondering which one would perform better and look good at the same time.

Grabber AT2 is abit more aggressive tread from what i can see.
