12' Altitude Stereo Overhaul

This weekend friends and I will be doing the audio overhaul on my 12' Altitude with the Alpine System. Parts are listed below:

Focal IS165 components
Focal IC 165 coaxials for rear doors
Alpine SPR10tw for rear surrounds
Alpine PDX v9 amp
Audiocontrol LC7i
Mega Mat

At a later date a stealth box will be added.
I found the wireing diagrams from the stock amp here for tapping to the converter.
I will be posting in here pictures, install tips and review of the sound when done. Should have this done in a day and a half.

Nice choices! You should have an awesome sound system once everything is installed. I noticed that you will be using an LC7i so are you keeping the factory radio?

subbie09 03-06-2013 09:57 PM

That is correct. Factory 430 will be kept to be able to keep stock volume control. Gains will be adjusted by the amp and lc7i and of course tuning by the amp which will have a full range to choose from.

What exactly do you mean by "stock volume control" ?

The volume knob on the 430 lol

subb,

You replaced the rear 2.5" speakers with the Alpine SPR10tw for rear surrounds? If so, how did you mount/fit them?

Shoukd be killer! You may not find a ton of voided space for the sound mat, and will be jonesing to get that stealthbox asap. Enjoy.

I will be and they will be powered by the stock amp. I will post pictures when I do it this weekend.

Thanks for the advice about the Matt.

As far as the stealthbox goes, I am getting married in June so I hinted that as my wedding gift. lol. So for the time being the stock sub is staying, and all we are going to do is run the speaker wire off the new amp to where the stealthbox goes so when I do get it all we need to do is take apart that corner and replace the sub.

Attaboy subbie. Congrats to you and best wishes to the blushing bride.

So long as her wedding gift from you isn't the Stealthbox, you should be GTG.

Should be a very nice system once everything is said and done. I'm getting the same amp and sub as you, just started ordering all the install parts. I'm curious as to where you plan to mount the amp, I was thinking under the drivers seat but haven't finalized on that location yet.

Looking forward to seeing your build.
