Re: 2014 3.6 exhaust

Is it dual exhaust or dual tail pipes? I asked several weeks ago and got no answer. MY14's are on the lots now, but it is raining out so I'm not going over there to check!

Re: 2014 3.6 exhaust

It's dual exhaust from the motor that goes into a huge square muffler about mid car and then backout to dual. It's not combined at any point so I'm looking to take out the one giant muffler and add seperate free flows but I was looko g for more info on it.

Interesting. Thanks. Sorry I can't help you.

Interesting. So do the 2011-13 models with a 3.6 v6 have a single exhaust then? Because with no horsepower improvements, the dual exhaust adds weight and complexity. And oh yeah 30 virtual horsepower from the sexy dual exhaust looks. surprisingly there are cars that do not always benefit from true dual exhausts true but those have typically turbo engines.

Re: 2014 3.6 exhaust

I'm pretty sure that the 11-13 have a single. I'm going to crawl under tonight and take some pics and measurements. I'm not sure if it's the cat or one via t muffler I'm looking at. But I'm hoping I can add two single and veg spittle more sound and power out of it

OK, So im an idiot
I was looking at the giant cat, the mullfer are at the rear with the stainless tips mounted to them, i dont know how i missed this last nigh. So now i guess i have to wait for an aftermarket cat back exhuast to come out, but it looked very similar to the v8 exhuast pics that i saw i wonder if there the same cat and rear section, i guess ill get back under and look for part numbers

Re: 2014 3.6 exhaust

The power to be gained is not really in cat-back exhaust components but in the catalytic converters themselves. Of course I am not advocating breaking the Clean Air Act and removing them. However, a high flow cat would be interesting - and the first place to look (afaiak) is the HEMI / SRT lineup. Are their catalytic converters the same part number as the Pentastar on ? I would think not given the higher combustion volume from the V8 engines (almost doubled engine size on the SRT). So...I speculate that an SRT cat might actually provide a power increase while keeping polar bears happy. It actually might have to be a HEMI model so it can still accommodate skid plates...

So many ideas...so little money....And NO I am not even considering a V8 in place of all these "problems". I like small displacement forced induction engines.

i think i found the part numbers, the sticker was pretty beat but it's 52022398AC, and the cat had DM09102 stamped into the bottom, it apperars to be the same as the 11-13 5.7 im sure theres some differances but its darn close. heres the 5.7 in the diagram and the srt in the pic

Re: 2014 3.6 exhaust

I take back my other post, lol. so the big hunk of metal in the pics is infact the muffler, I just left the dealers and he confirmed it. They also said the its a fifferant part number than the 5.7 but it seemed the be the same in diameter. He said most likly its the muffler and the resonator that are differant.
