Transmission Line Pressure Booster

I was looking into this product for my jeep. Did anyone install this? I dont want to do any damage to the transmission, can this cause damage to the transmission????

#45LPB / #68LPB. This family of transmissions uses a full range line pressure sensor mounted on the outside of the transmission for "closed loop" line pressure control. Due to this system, traditional methods of raising line pressure by changing the PR spring or valves have no effect. This Line Pressure Booster alters the pressure signal sent to the computer causing the computer to raise line pressure. The 68RFE has a 10-15 PSI increase and the 45RFE and 545RFE has a 15-30 PSI increase. Higher line pressure increases clutch holding power and torque capacity. Changes in shift feel will be noticed mostly under aggressive driving or loaded conditions. This part is ideal for heavy duty and modified vehicles and even stock transmissions when a little extra pressure is desired. No other modifications are required. The Line Pressure Booster installs between the pressure sensor and vehicle harness using OEM style sealed connectors. Simply unplug the vehicle harness and reconnect with one of these parts. Cost $49.00

Re: Transmission Line Pressure Booster

I ordered it last week. Plan to install it after my tranny gets rebuilt. After more and more research on our transmissions, my guess is this is similar to one part of the transgo kit.

One of the last steps of the transgo shift kit is to solder a diode to the same connector. My guess is it does something along the lines of stepping down the voltage of the pressure signal which causes the pcm to raise the pressure. I have read that installing that diode can be a pain, so my guess is this just has the diode built into a factory connector making it easier to install and uninstall. Since this thing costs about the same as the cheaper transgo kit i thought about canceling the order but im sure its on its way already. If nothing else it's easier to install than soldering a diode.

That's an interesting mod. The NAG1 has a similar upgrade (blue top solenids from Mercedes or Paramount Performance valvebody). I wonder how good this one is. BTW, I checked with Bill at Paramount and he does use something like this to modify this tranny.

Let us know how it works out.

I actually just added to the order. I found a transmission shop that will allow me to provide the parts and still warranty the tranny. I just ordered the performance version of the transgo kit, new filters, and the Alto Red Eagle clutches. Hopefully i'll have a great review of all these parts at together, but as far as that line pressure booster by itself, someone else may need to try it out

so i got this wire thingie to try out about 3 weeks ago now..ive noticed the shifts do have a little bit more of a firmer feel under a hard accel. this wasnt something you notice like "holy crap my trans is totally different" but u do notice a little something..this weekend ill hook my boat up and give it a tow..i just havent done it yet to try it.

as far as worth $50?
its up to you. your not going to feel $50 difference. but it supposedly is holding the clutches tighter which would be a payoff. so that is my input so far.

My friend use Line Pressure Booster from Sonnax on WJ. It is really working!!!
It simply resistor which weakens a signal from the pressure sensor and, thereby forces a tranny brain to increase pressure.

pjs1965, it's very interesting issue for me! Could you please to give more detailed information? Where it can be bought?

Sure, I'll send you a PM.

Re: Transmission Line Pressure Booster

Thank you!
I have found it on Paramaunt Performance. It's really impressive.
BUT... custom valvebody is not the same thing as Line Pressure Booster. Valvebody is a real tune-up the transmission. The booster is simply electrical trick. Am I right? And prices are different....
