Still Concern on Quadra-Lift in 2014?

Hi, I'm new around here but I've been reading some of the old threads on QL problems. I'm wondering if these problems have been addressed in the 2014s or is it still an issue or unknown?

I'm considering a GC Limited with the CRD engine. It appears that QL is part of the Off Road 2 package. Are people just ordering the Off Road 1 and the tow package which seems to cover most of OR2 to avoid QL? What would I be giving up not getting QL, softer ride and ability to raise/lower height? The park lowering feature sounds nice since my wife is only 4'11" tall.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

They addressed the issues, per a Jeep employee, but it's too early to tell if they solved the problems.

On the other hand, if you read enough of the threads here there are an awful lot of people who have had no problems at all.

The only real common "issue" is that not being of metal, you do have wear and tear. Ain't nothing you can do about that. On the other hand, steel springs do wear out eventually too.

My '11 with QL has had no QL issues at all, it works awesome and I wouldn't buy one of these without it unless I planned to do a big lift kit or something.

I'm with you as far as being on the fence with the OA2 w/ the QL.

On one hand, getting tow 4 gets you the load leveling rear shocks, which seem to be as problem prone as the QL, for better or for worse. And getting QL means no blank buttons on the select terrain console (something about blanked off buttons bothers me on a 45k plus vehicle)

But then getting QL violates the "more stuff to break" rule.

I think I might just flip a coin on it.

I think if you're worried about "more stuff to break" you should be way more concerned with the new transmission. You can drive a vehicle with a broken QL. A broken transmission renders it inoperable. You can retrofit steel spring in place of air bag springs. You can't retrofit in a new transmission.

Just my opinion though.
