LED bulb fallen apart. How do I fix it?

Ok so one of my LED fog bulbs fell apart...like this(after 3 months of use)

^^now go ahead and start flaming AAC

It's not broken, simply couldn't withstand vibrations so it seems.
AAC would probably send me a new one(I hope to think so). But I got my AAC parts when I was on vacation in Florida. So I don't know if they would send it all the way down here. I would probably have to go to through customs and all. And it's a lot of fuzz for just a bulb.

So I thought to fix it myself. The thing is that I'm new to LED bulbs. So I don't know where to hook up the wires. So could anyone who knows tell me where I'd have to solder?

Thanks for now

no comment on aac :violin:

you will need a long slender solder iron to get in there........

just solder it where they came off of.....

Rob: The thing is that I don't know where it came off of :). If you look inside the aluminum casing you see a black....little something. That's where the wires go from up and into the LEDs. But there are no points on it where I can solder. And then in the bottom you can see they scraped the paint off around all those holes...I suppose to get a connection? Do I solder the wires down there? There are 4 holes.

Nate: I was actually very pleased with them. They don't light up like HID's. But they illuminated a little :)

The polarity is going to make a difference, so you have a 50/50 shot of getting it right the first time.....

i would get a 9 volt battery and attach some wires to its pos and neg, then stick them in there and see what lights it up. then solder on those places.......

Will try the 9 volt battery technique

Re: LED bulb fallen apart. How do I fix it?

Don't think I can Scott. It's such a tight fit that I'll probably have to extend the wires a bit to get them reconnected again. If so, I might as well solder them.

Sent a mail to AAC asking for help on how to put it back together a few days ago......still waiting for reply..... :banghead:
Will try to get it done this week.
Thanks for replies guys!

Re: LED bulb fallen apart. How do I fix it?

Fixed it yesterday :D
Polarity was indeed the biggest challenge, as you said Saleen.
But thanks to Rob's advise on testing with 9 volt battery, it made it all so much easier

I had to add a little bit of wire, but it all sealed up nice and tight and is now working perfect. I also took the other bulb that was not broken and super glued it where ever possible to prevent it from separating as well.
Still no reply from AAC.....so they scratch me off their client list :madder:
