4.7 afe vs. K and N

what do you guys think? Is the K and N better in order to get rid of the other black restrictive box or go afe and keep the box? Any input would be great! Thanks

Personally I wanted to keep the "box." I love my aFe CAI but I have a Hemi.

I have the K&N c.a.i. and I can tell you the throttle response is night and day from the stock box

I just order the aFe Stage 2 after a little research and found that it is way better than the K&N and I don't know much about vehicles at all. I am about as Noob as they come.. but what I did learn made a lot of sense. The biggest thing is the heat shield box it is what keeps the intake temps lower = more power = more mpg... so it's pretty simple equation to me.. hot air = bad!!

it doesn't really seem like there is a general consensus..

is this more of a personal preference/brand loyalty type thing?

hummer recovery team 05-29-2013 10:39 PM

It pretty much is... As long as the cold air intake is from a editable brand that uses a well made heat shield your a ok
