Just got a quote for... (help?)

Deleted lower moldings.

Estimate total : $2,023.59

Labor alone is killing here - comes in at $1,495.00

I really want to do this mod but not at that price, anyone in Colorado (or surrounding states) know a friend of a friend sort of thing that can get this done any cheaper?

Deleted lower moldings look like this. (photo by nifty97z)

Have you talked to Rob?

I assume you have.

^ not about this. i'm pretty sure my roommate and i can do all the prep work to get the mod done, then we would just need to hand it off to a shop to paint. exploring options.

I know Rob has used a vendor here for most, if not all, of his paintwork, but it's probably worth a shot.

And I think doing all the prep work will make a huge difference... spraying shouldn't be too much; Maybe 500 bucks.

Oh ya, Rob uses Daniel from the forums for his paint work. He is down in Waco TX though, a little bit of a haul for me.

Yeah, you'd spend more in gas than the actual work, haha.

Maybe try randomly asking people you work with, who knows, you may get a hit.

That's a HUGE amount! Don't do that. You can save a lot!

hey Mike, that sounds high.

one thing about nifty, his black paint would be much easier to match and acquire so that will effectt the cost. but maybe by a 100 bux.

the other thing, and i know you know this, dont shop only price......

what might work better is finding a fabricator to fill the holes in the door with metal, probably replace a whole strip area. then go to a body shop for the finish and paint.

Just get the moldings color matched and then go from there IMO.

Damn!!! But wouldn't they have to paint the whole door or can they just spot pain and blend it in? My door mondings have saved me from a few dings from other car doors. IMO jet the plastic larado moldings and have the (Grand Cherokee) shaved off and painted.
