Taillight problems!

i got pulled over yeaterday and the cop told me that my taillights were going out intermittently when i hit a couple small bumps. he asked me to look at them and when i did they werent even on, but the car and my headlights were on. i figured it was just a fluke so i left it alone. but today when i stared her up to go to work at 6pm. my taillights would not come on but when i push the break the breaklights come on. whats going on here?? if it helps, my 3rd breaklight wont come on either.

One of my rigs had a similar prob, turned out to be corrosion at the bulb sockets.... simply remove, clean and re grease.... see if that helps?

Check fuses. if thats not it, remove the sockets and clean the contacts. For WJ's, its always a problem. Sometime the socket itself is the problem itself, I had to change one on mine because the regular light would work but when brake was applied nothing happened. Let us know if you figure it out.

I have had that happen a couple of times. The brake light switch may have been knocked loose from the brake pedal. look for a little box with a button on it. If it isn't attached to bracket where the pedal rest's thats your problem. I hit a good bump and it shook loose.
hope it helps.
