4x4 use a flat bed to tow it any other way you might damage it

Just pop it in neutral on the range selector.. as far as securing it.. I don't know much about that.

The WK is weird you need a pen to push a button to disengage the driveline.

Put the front wheels on a tow dolly and take the rear driveline loose at the rear diff. secure it in the "up" position with a rachet strap or heavy duty zip tie's to the bracket located on the seam of the tub just above it. I beleive it is the rear brake line securing bracket where the brake line crosses from driver to pass. side of the Jeep.

DO NOT use cheap tie's if you go that route.

For automatics: transfer case in neutral and tranny in park.
For a manual: transfer case in neutral and tranny in first.

Make sure the steering is "unlocked", key in the unlock position.
