2006 Grand Cherokee, Hemi, 5.7 L, starts, but dies without idle,

2006 Grand Cherokee, Hemi, 5.7 L, starts, but dies without idle, after several attempts there is no turn over, but just a click. Wait and try again thirty minutes or so and most of the time it returns to no problem. After that problem I took it to a mechanic and he couldn't find a problem because there was no symptoms to the problem. A few days later I had the same problem again. Since it is Sunday the mechanic is not available. Like before wait and it has no problem. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

It sounds like it could be the security system killing the motor after it does not detect the proper key in the ignition.

Is the little security light flashing when it kills it? Do you have another key that you can try?

Try disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes. Maybe the security system needs a reset.

Thanks to all. I went to have a new key cut and programmed and they reprogrammed the old key. It seems that the problem is solved.
