Xenon lights...

Hello,

I've been contemplating getting some xenon lights for my Jeep but wanted some feedback If anyone has ever gotten ticketed or stopped for having them. Or if they distract other drivers. Thanks.

If your talking about HID's then yes, get them and stop waiting! :) There are plenty of reviews about them, check the HID vendors we have here on the forums and their feedback for their products.

As far as anyone getting stopped for them, I have yet to hear that one?

And when you install them, just make sure to aim them down / properly so they are not blinding others and your good to go! :)

OK, How would I find the vendors on here? and I noticed that prices are kinda all over the place. I don't want something super cheap, but don't wanna break the bank either. Whats an ideal price on a good unit? thanks.

One of if not my fav mod! Changed driving at night. I would say most guys here go with 6k or 5k. Factory OEM color is about 4300k whick is the brightest but may have a tint of yellow at some angles. Most people try to stay close to that bright white look so they go with the 5k-8k For the bad weather seasons some people along with myself swap the fog bulbs to 3k which is the yellow cause the light perceived on the ground is better with 3k rather than 5k or 6k. Here's a color chart that you can kinda get an idea of the color temps.

is that diagram just for fogs or color chart for headlights as well?

id love to see something like that in terms of headlights appearance.

That's for both fogs/lows/highs pretty much. But remember in the diagram those are projector lenses. I have reflectors and the light patters is more scattered. Projectors control the light pattern A LOT better than reflectors.

Thats what I'm kinda concerned about. Since the light is more scattered I don't wanna get noticed by the cops or blind others at night.

I really like the 5k's though, and have the 3k's for fogs...

I have 5000k lows and 3000k fogs. i pulled up to a traffic light last night with a new york state trooper directly across from me. he could care less lol the wk have a great headlight housing for hid conversion. the glare is not too bad and the cut off line is low enough to not bother other drivers. the light output from 5000k is AMAZING!
