Lift Kit

I have been thinking about getting a 3 inch lift kit on my 05 grand cherokee 4x4 laredo and I was wondering if I could keep my stock rims and put 33 inch tires on it, or if i would have to purchase a larger size rim?

You can keep your stock wheels but you will need wheel spacers to clear the bolt and you will need to modify your pinch weld in order to fit 285/70/17's.

Do you know about a rough estimate on the 3 inch lift, wheel spacers, modified pinch weld, and 33 inch tires, with work included for someone to do all this?

I went to A place near my apt. called custom trucks unlimited and being in a college town with all the modified trucks i have seen their work and everyone says they are great, and they said for 33 inch nitto terra grapplers, 3 inch lift, 18 inch rockstar rims, and work included it would be $2500.

that sounds about right.. the 3 inch lift you speak of I'm assuming is the OME HD (bc its the only 3" lift for the WK).. that will run you $700 or so.. The rockstars will run you around another $700or so (in my opinion, I think the rockstars are ugly..especially with those center caps..but thats just my opinion.. i'm more of a Moab, XD crank, or AEV Pintler fan on WKs) .. and the 33" tires another $700or so.. youre basically around 2250 in parts give or take.. so yea, $2,500 is fair. ALSO, pretty sure you don't need spacers if youre getting aftermarket wheels. so you need OME HD lift, aftermarket wheels, tires.. install... and alignment. for those 4 things $2,500 is fair. if you decide to save a couple hundred and go with using your stock wheels, youll need 1.5" spidertraxx spacers.. that will run you 200... so youre saving about 500 on no aftermarketwheels.. my logic though, if youre dropping $2K+.. just spend the extra few hundred on the wheels.

Please for the love of all things holly do NOT buy Rockstars.

Now that I got that out of the way. $2500 seems like way to good of price for what your talking about.

As stated by Tfran the OME HD which is the only 3 inch lift on the market for the WK is $700 (4 coils and shocks and struts). Another $700-800 in wheels and good 285/70/17 tire is going to run $300 per. Add labor to that and your already over your estimate.

This leads me to believe that they either one don't have a clue, two they are quoting on some cheap crap that doesn't belong in a WK or three, they have such incredible buying power they can sell on the cheap.

If I were you, I would get an itemized list of what they are selling you and get back to us.

I actually had a list of all the prices for items, labor, etc. but I threw it away. Next time I get estimates I will come back to y'all and let y'all know what they say. I wish I knew more about this stuff but I feel like I would need hands on experience to know all the details of these items. thanks man

Lucas is def. right.. by me saying 2500 was fair..I was thinking in my mind more of thats basically free labor! and a great deal.. who knows.. maybe they can just do it for that cheap.. the itemized list is a very good thing to have.. you should get a new quote (whether from them or another shop) with a price list of each item and post up the prices on here..

heres 2 things you'll want for sure though... OME HD lift and NO ROCKSTARS! haha its your wk.. and your opinion but look at the Mamba wheels lucas has, the jk moabs, the xd cranks, the aev pintlers even some pro comps..you might like those more. (hopefully) LOL
