Audio Upgrade Help

Hey all, I've been a lurker here for some time and find this forum very helpful. I'm finally wanting to pull the trigger on a system upgrade and would appreciate some info. First is a setup. Right now I believe I have the factory alpine system with the mygig RHB. I'm looking to keep the factory head unit and add a 5 channel amp, components up front and coaxials in back. Is this a project I can tackle on my own? The main things I'm worried about is tapping into the factory wiring, where exactly would I do this? Also I tried pulling off one of the door panels just to take a look, and feel like I'm gonna break the darn thing. I went to 2 local shops and was quoted 1700 for a hertz audison setup, and 1600 for a full JL setup. I know I could get everything online cheaper but not sure if the paying the extra cash is worth having a professional do it. I've installed all my systems in previous cars but this is my first time working on a brand new car. Anyone who's done this before care to give some pointers or advice? Would be greatly appreciated thankyou

Search for my thread under the audio section. It can be done by yourself if you have electrical knowledge. 2 ppl and it was a full weekend project. Search, there are a few ppl who upgraded besides myself.

Yes I think I've read through your thread about 10 times. LoL. Just clueless as to what you tapped into? Did you cut any stock wires or is there some sort of plug and play adapter. I saw that PAC has a plug and play one but read bad things about it. I want to use the LC7i but don't want to cut any factory wires.
