08 Tail light removal problems

This is a newbie problem but I am trying to remove the driver's side tail light on my 08 Grand. Owner's manual says there are two Torx screws but on mine there are two plastic push pins that hold the inside edge to the housing opening. In the owner's manual the next pic is just the whole assembly removed and does not tell you how to remove the assy once the push pins are removed. Is it a matter of just giving it a good yank? I did this and the assy start to crack and moan a bit so I stopped. Are there some clips on the inside that have to be removed first? Please advise.
Thx.

Wiggle it around a little bit. There's 2 ball in socket type pins in the back that might be stuck. But basically once you remove the 2 pins (both parts of them) then the tail light housing just pops out. pull straight out to the back of the jeep not to the side.

Your profile doesn't say where you're located, but if it's cold where you're at, anytime you deal with plastic parts you should try to warm them up so that any plastic fastener bits have an easier time bending. A halogen shop lamp will warm pieces up nicely.

yeah they should pop right out! if you are in the cold you might want to get them warm so the plastic doesn't break...

Thanks everyone for the help much appreciated. I am in the cold. Toronto,Ontario Canada. So I will take Jeep inside and thanks Swagga for the advice. I'll reef on it a little harder with things warmed up.
