2014 climate control woes

Ok, biggest issue I have with my new summit is the climate control. I have to reset everything each time I restart the car. In fact the default setting is all ac off. This is so annoying, certainly I'm just doing something wrong or don't have the right options selected, right? Is there a way to have this just save the most recent setting that was on prior o shutdown? This is the Eco button squared!

Bump.. Am I the only one experiencing this? Are there any updates to correct this?

Have you brought it in to the dealer to have it looked at? I have heard of this issue on other vehicles and in some cases, the dealer left the car in "demo mode" and they have to switch it (as part of dealer prep for delivery to customer) so it defaults to what you had it on last. Hopefully this is NOT another system glitch along with multiple UConnect issues.

Today, I specifically shut my Summit off with the A/C on. When I got back in and started it up about 10 minutes later, the A/C mode was still on. So I guess at least that seems to work properly on my WK2.

Never had this issue on our Overland. If I shut it off with the AC on, it comes back on with the AC on, if I shut it off with Auto on, then it comes back on with Auto on. The only time it changes is if I remote start since I have the comfort options enables.

My Summit works ok but I have only had it a few days. Maybe it is an update that needs to be done. Mine remembers the settings when I shut it off.

If you are setting it with the screen controls, try setting it with the real buttons.

Thanks all, I have tried setting it with both the screen and fixed buttons with no luck. Each startup is from scratch. Sounds like this is NOT normal and a trip to the dealer is in store. Just turned 1500 miles so I was going to take it in for an oil change anyway.

Can you leave Defrost on High when you turn it off so that when you use the Remote Start on a Cold Morning it will come on and melt the Frost on the Windshield before you get outside ? (I don't like to scrape my windshield).

I park it in the garage at night and haven't had the need for that. I'll turn it on tonight and see if it stays on in the morning when I start it.

My `12 has something similar.. Regardless of what mode you leave it on last, the next time you turn it on it will default to feet and defrost mode. PITA

Re: 2014 climate control woes

I'm having a similar issue with my 14' also. Whenever i start the car the climate control is off. I always leave it on when i shut the car off but it never turns on again when i start the car up again. I always remote start it a couple minutes before i get into it. The temp is always where i leave it, so it doesn't actually reset...

I noticed if i shut the car off and get back into it within a short time it automatically turns on like should. I looked for any setting in the Uconnect but there were none. Does this require a dealer visit?
