4.7 H.O. mini catalytic converter replacement

I have an 04' with the HO and want to replace the mini catalytic converters underneath. I currently have a 40series flowmaster that sounds good but when i hit higher RPM's it seems to quiet down a bit. What do you guys think is the best high flow mini cats? Any other suggestions?

I use the Thunderbolt metallic substrate cats. they cost 63 shipped from Performance Curve , you need the 2" in/out ones.

Thanks. Did you notice any gains or louder exhaust? I think you have me sold on them.

If you gut your cats it'll be loud all to be damned! You need to be able to handle LOUD all the time.

Isn't a plus if its shuts up while cruising tho?

I'll have to live with it, I need the flow.

The big thing I want is flow, but not too loud. I like it somewhat quiet when i'm cruzzin, but loud when i'm gettin on it. I think i'm going to get the Thunderbolt metallic substrate cats and leave it at that. Trying to find that happy medium is the hard part.

I hear you there. I changed my setup 5 or 6 times until I found a setup I was truly happy with. I run 3 of those thunderbolt metallic cats (2 in the Y pipe, 1 3" main cat) and a 4x14 Magnaflow round resonator behind that, into a 3" pipe out the rear. Sounds great when cruising, LOUD at WOT, and I get a ton of compliments on it. Now if only my girlfriends didn't complain about it.
