A-Pillar Knocking Noise - Warranty Work
The only real problem I've had intermittently with my 2012 GC Overland, has been a knocking noise originating from near the A pillar or windshield.
Back in July 2012 I took the Jeep in for an oil change, and talked to the service advisor about a warped window cowling under the wiper blades as a possible cause. Back then they would not order the replacement part.
After TSB 23-022-12 REV. A issued November 21, 2012 - I brought it to the attention of the dealership and last week, they looked again at the issue.
They ordered the window cowling and hinge bolt (they had to order 10 at a time, minimum order from Jeep) - and will replace the hood hinge pivot bolt and re-torque it. Should take about a half hour for this TSB to be performed hopefully.
I'll post back about how successful this goes - has anyone else had this TSB applied recently? Thanks.
Re: A-Pillar Knocking Noise - Warranty Work
New windshield cowling was installed. New hinge bolt put on and torqued properly. No noise yet noticeable - time to accomplish TSB @ 20 minutes.
