MGP Caliper Covers - cool or cheesy?

Okay I'm on the fence with the caliper covers from MGP. On one hand they look to be made very well, installation is a breeze, and the result is a nice clean look. I know other members have debated things like reduced brake dust and cooling but I'd like to just focus on aesthetics in this thread. The other option is to just paint the current calipers which would require mostly time since the paint is cheap at <$30. The MGPs are around $200 a set.

So, cheesy or cool?

save the $200+ and put it towards the real thing. They make a HUGE difference.

I would just paint em.

Here're a few pics of painted vs the covers on a 12 and 14 overland

Does Brembo make a kit for the nonSRT8 WK2? If not, does anyone?

I painted mine red, they turned out really good.

What paint did you use? Just curious if you sprayed or brushed

I used Duplicolor Caliper Paint in Red. It's brush on. Simple to do, just clean up the brake dust and road grime build up and brush on. I put on 3 or 4 coats.

The mgp caliper covers are cool and an easy way to give a lil extra flash to your vehicle. It would be nice if they just made the different colored calipers without all the lettering on them though

Scottina06 04-26-2013 07:11 PM

You can get them any color...any script...logo...no logo...no nothing
