weird sound when speeding/accel

Hi guys,

this is a bit embarrasing but im posting up anyhow, im getting a strange noise when im accelerating the jeep. it only happens once in any given drive & it sounds like a muffled "Shwoop" . kinda like the jeep has a cold & snot being sucked back in. :o

any clues as to what this might be?

Re: weird sound when speeding/accel

Sounds like you're TB is opening up and sucking in more air for combustion under acceleration, which is normal. When you hit the accelerator, it pushes more gas into the chamber, and this requires more air for the proper combustion ratio, thus the "schoop" noise while sucking in air. The prevalence of you're "schoop" noise will be greater/lesser depending on what type of air intake your particular 4.7L has. If it's the OEM one, it's probably pretty quiet and you can only hear it with the windows down, but if it's an aftermarket CAI, it's probably noticeably louder.
