No reverse

So Im driving around today just like normal. Not sure if this has anything to do with it but I took off my overdrive to rev a little higher turned it back on after every run. Then all of a sudden I feel this weird like bump when I put it in reverse. I didnt make much of it everything was fine it shifted right back into it after words. Then about an hour later I go out and when I go to back out and leave the damn thing won't go into reverse. I can hear it spinning but no reverse. I hope to god the band isnt shot. I have no idea what else it could be. Any input?

I had a similar problem two years ago. It turned out to be linked to low low tranny oil and after adding some she was back and running for another 35,000 kms before the transmission eventually gave up. Good luck.

I know it doesn't look good. The tranny has 140k on it. Fluid looks clean and the level is fine. I had a problem with it once before not shifting from second to third and it turned out to be some kind of sensor. I read too that they can be the source of most tranny problems on jeeps. (Quote from Yahoo answers on someone else w/ same problem... "
solenoids that's your problem replace the correct one Chrysler transmissions you can rebuild you can just drive if all the solenoids are not working the transmission will not work properly have a dodge dealer run a scan tool on the jeep and they can tell you which solenoide is out

Well, pulled the pan and found little bits of metal. :( looks like new tranny for me. Cheapest price i found on a rebuilt was 1800, 600-650 for a used one with 90k. This SUCKS.
