Vari-loc spider gears....need advice.
Hi all,
I pulled to cover off the rear diff in my overland to change the fluid only to find almost half the spider gear teeth broken off and either on the magnet or in the bottom of the case.Apart from a few groans during full lock turns it has been quiet as a mouse and driving fine...quite bizarre really.
I have done a lot of searching and cannot find any reference to replacement spider gears. The side gears and r & p are perfect with no damage at all.The vari-loc unit performs as at should as well. Are replacements available?
At the same time as repairing the damage I would like to drop a set of 4.56 gears in as well, any recommendations on brands to consider or steer clear of would be appreciated.
Cheers Doug

Have a look at the following site for the spider gears, USD 110 for the kit.
