Rocky road quality?

So ive bought a few things from rocky road incuding a lift and roof rack and purchased the supersliders but havent recieved them yet. After having my roof rack on and the spare tire carrier for only about 3 months all the hardware is visibly rusted, the top bolts that hold the roof rack to the car and the bolts that hold the roof rack together. I havent hopped under my car to see if the lift has any issues. But is this company worth spending 500$ on supersliders and have them have issues as well. Im now thinking about going with the mopar ones

I love RRO. Had there lift in for over 6 years and it held up really really well.

Post some pics of the rust. If it's not high grade stainless it will rust at some point but 3 months is way to quick.

I would remove them and get some stainless hardware, the rust will not get any better with time.
Make sure all the hardware is stainless, bolt, washer, lock washer

Its not even just that, its also the bolts that hold the roof rack together,i shouldnt have to supply my own hardware for a 400$+ roofrack

Thats true. I would call them and e mail the photo's and see what they say. Maybe they have a bad batch of stainless hardware from a supplier.

I would contact them. The stuff I had in my my lift kit doesn't rust like that and I live in New England.

Re: Rocky road quality?

So I ended up calling rocky road way back when and they said yep not a problem to send new hardware after calling 3 times and them saying yes they will send some it never happened. I thought it was a good brand but when it comes to reliability on the hardware it was awful, not even one year and the roof rack was so rusted on that I had to leave it on the vehicle when I traded it in as well as the lift kit. Pretty disappointed that's the roof bars were so rusted on I couldn't remove to resell, I have the roof rack itself but not the roof rails. So if anyone wants that as well as the nitto terra grapplers I'm going to figure out how to make a want to sell.

It has been over a year since the last post but I'm curious if others have experienced poor quality or poor customer service with Rocky Road Outfitters.

Yes I'm sure there are satisfied customers out there but that's not who I'm asking to hear from. I'm asking to hear from any others who have had problems with their products, what was the problem and what if anything did RRO do (or not do) about it?

A reputable company should stand behind its products and take care of its customers. Maybe Rocky Road Outfitters isn't as reputable as they ought to be.

I haven't bought anything from them yet but was considering it until I saw Keegur's experience.
