Re-badging... not de-badging

I have a 3M Reflexite American flag decal I'd like to put on the liftgate of my WK2. It's reflective, and I'd like to stick it in the lower left-hand corner of the liftgate so if/when it's parked on the street, it'll be a little more visible. Problem is, the 4x4 and Laredo decals are in that position. Would it be feasible to take these badges off and re-apply them on the passenger's side, or should I just plan on shelling out the ~$60 on new 4x4 and Laredo badges? I thought about dropping the Laredo badge to save on costs, but when the car is clean the badge has an awesome shine to it in the sun from all angles.

Put the flag where you want it.

Put the Laredo badge on your dashboard, since you are probably the only one who looks at it. That way you can see it while you're driving.

I doubt you would get the same stickyness out of the badge after taking it off. Try looking on amazon sometimes you can snag them pretty cheap on there.

I know this may sound cheesy bout how about overlaying the decal to determine where the badging is then neatly cutting out a hole that would allow space for the decal and badging to coexist?

Cuz...

United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, 176: Respect for flag.

(g) The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature
