Need Help on tires/rims

Hi I have a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Lareado..looking to make it look more rugged. I found a 3.5 inch custom lift and was wanting to put on 18 inch XD Misfits along with 32-33 inch Nitto Tera Grapplers. The place where I was going to buy it told me that the combo of the rims and tires would not look good on the jeep..something about the offset. I'm not knowledgeable when it comes to tires and rims. So if anyone could help please let me know, because I have seen other jeeps on here with XD Misfits with Nitto Tera Grapplers.
Thanks, Brandon

What is the "custom" 3.5 inch lift?

Well the first thing i would say is say, stay away from that lift. Looks like Rock Krawler clone which is a terrible WK lift and will not net you 3.5 inches of lift. If you are looking for a BB the get yourself a a Rough Country or a Rocky Road Outfitters lift and a set of 17 inch misfits with some 265/70/17 in tires.

Hi Lucas, sorry to jump in on this thread again (continuation from my lift/wheels thread), but most 265/70/17 manufacturers are stating rim width range from 7" to 8.5", with the 'measured width' to be 8". The Misfits you mentioned I believe are 17X9, and hence would be outside of the 'common' 265/70/17 tire size?

The wheeling I would mainly be doing will be sand dunes, and hence have to drop the psi considerably for traction, the risk with being on the upper limit of rim width for any given tire would result in the tire coming off. Therefore, ideally the 265/70/17 should be mounted on a 17x8 rim (and most after maket rims tend to be 17x9). Any advice?

Problem solved, 265/65/17 fits rims 7.5" wide to 9.5" wide. Went for Toyo Open Country A/T tires.
Photos to follow in 2 weeks...
