For those who picked up an ordered vehicle - Any exterior defects?

I didn't order my Overland, but the dealer acquired one in transit for me. It should arrive Saturday. I will of course look it over closely when I go to pick it up and complete the transaction. I have never started a transaction on a vehicle that I hadn't seen in person. In this case I could be in a position that if there is a defect in the paint, ding, scratch, chip etc. do I not accept the vehicle? Obviously there is some threshold where any reasonable person would say I'm not taking this vehicle because of a big dent, but curious if those who encountered any scratches, chips etc walked away or had the dealer find another vehicle because of it? I am pretty particular about my vehicles, so buying one with a scratch, ding, etc would be hard for me to accept. Certainly all but one vehicle I have purchased was perfect, and the one I did accept with a scratch was never fixed to my satisfaction.

Thanks!

I ordered mine and it was absolutely perfect inside and out when delivered and I am extremely picky about my stuff. :D

I haven't found any external defects, except the exterior window seal on the driver window was rolled in and I had to open the window and push it back to straight. The interior has some white scuff marks in a couple of spots, which i cant figure out, but I will wash them off. Overall, my only complaint at this time is the radio doesn't remember where I left it when I play a folder on a USB drive and turn off the car, grrr. And the ventilated seat is inconsistent on start, sometimes it goes to high (where I keep it), sometimes low, sometimes off, doesn't bother me, but it is curious.

I don't mind a couple of minor paint defects on arrival because I know it will get more when I drive it. I already have had three rocks hit the hood from lories, but no marks left so far, so the paint is high quality.

Just coming up on 500 miles, nothing visible or out of alignment, paint & interior seem excellent on my ordered Limited. This weekend I plan to wash it so I shall get to scrutinize it a little closer. Good luck, hope it's a keeper!! Dave

Mine had three paint flaws. Like a small grain of sand in paint. I was somewhat disappointed, but took delivery and have learned to live with them, rather than having complete panels repainted.

Similar prob with my '12. Small blemish under the clearcoat. I picked up the truck at night, and didn't notice the defect. I pointed it out later, and the dealer offered to have the panel repainted locally, but I declined. No use asking for trouble...

The trim over the rear wheels didn't line up perfectly when new, and this has worsened over time. I saw a new '12 on a lot a few months ago that was worse than my early build, so I guess that this is a common problem. It isn't obvious from a distance, so I don't worry about it.

First time I went to wash my '12, I found a somewhat nasty long scratch in rear quarter panel. It had curve to it making it obvious that it came from whoever washed it as part of the dealership's delivery prep. Guess I should say "has" not "had" since I still have it. Never confronted the dealer about it since they'd just say I'm the one who scratched it when I washed it.

Also, I didn't notice before picking it up that it was also missing its Trail Rated badge even though it has an offroad package and the badge is even listed on the build sheet.

No factory defects, though... fit and finish were perfect.

I had a small scratch on the hatch under the 4x4 badge and one of the wheels had some minor scratches on the face of the wheel that could only be seen with a perfect angle of the sun. I took it in a couple of days ago and they were able to buff out the paint scratch and too out most of the wheel scratches.

It has been fixed ... almost 100%.

I never thought about rejecting the car for something so minor.

The only annoying part is that I have it on good authority that it wasn't like that when it left the factory. It seems shippers of large and small items do more damage than is necessary.

Only exterior defect was the poor wash job they performed on it. Everything on the exterior was as it should have been. No scratches, paint chip, dents, alignment problems. The interior shifter was broken, but I put the blame on the freight company instead of the manufacture/dealer.
