Another 14' HID fog install

For those of you debating between LEDs and HIDs for the fogs, this might help sway you toward HIDs. The projector housing is sweet and creates a great cutoff for usable light. I ended up going 4300k to match the headlights, but 5000k would probably still match and match better with the factory LEDs. You NEED the warning cancelers, as mine flickered horribly without them. Here are a few quick pics!

For reference, here were the factory fogs

Looks awesome! I wish my 12 had those projector fogs. Anyone take pix of the mounting brackets for the fogs? Interested to see if they are the same as the 12s.

Looks good! I'm glad they used projectors in the 14's and the cutoff looks great. Were you able to tell if the foglight housing is metal or plastic? Where did you mount the ballast?

It felt like plastic to me, i'm not sure though. I mounted it on the metal beam inside the engine bay, double sided taped it and zip tied it down.

Nice work! What a difference compared to the factory fogs.

Which HID kit did you go with? What vendor?

Looks awesome! Great job!

I got the Zenex kit and some warning cancelers off of amazon in H11. I wish I got the slim ballasts because it was a pain mounting the bigger ones. The kit comes with double sided tape and zip ties so I mounted them to a cross beam in the engine bay.

That really does look awesome. Can you take some pics from farther away from a wall so we can see the light spread from the fogs with the HID kit? It looks like it has pretty decent color at the cutoff too...

I just wish we could do CBI bulbs in our headlights but the D3S obstacle is going to be hard to get over...

Yea I'll try to get a pic for you this evening if I can.

BTW, have you figured out how to adjust the aim of the fogs? I would like to be able to raise them up just a bit so their beam doesn't cut of so close.

I haven't looked into it but I'd imagine there is a screw or something on the housing to adjust them.

Philips XtremeVisions come in D3S and seem to be comparable to the CBIs.
