Question

Hello Everyone, I just purchased a new 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited. I am currently out on deployment with the US Navy, but I bought the car through a military dealboard my ship. The car will be built for me and ready when i get home. My first question to the forum, I am planning on putting aftermarket rims on the car and was wondering if 305/40/22 would fit on the car and or would the tires stick out because I am trying to avoid that.
If anyone has any pictures of their grand cherokee's with aftermarket rims could you please let me know what sizes you used. Thanks in advance and I look forward to using this forum, it seems pretty cool.

Re: Question

Welcome to the forum and thank you for doing what you do. 22" options are pretty limited for the new Grand Cherokee but with the right aftermarket wheel a 305/40R22 may fit. These are only about 1" taller than the stock tire, 305/35R20 would be the same diameter as the stock tire.

If you want to keep them within the fenders my guide suggests a 22x9 with a +40mm offset or a 22x9.5 with a 45mm offset.

Would the 305/35/R22 be load rated also?

It depends on the vehicle application. What year and model Jeep do you have?

The only tire model I am aware of that is produced in the 305/35-22 size is the Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico which carries a (XL) 110 load index.

Thank you for the additional information.

Yes, the 305/35-22 Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico is properly load rated for your application

Is there a narrower tire? What about 24s?

Re: Question

Depending on the wheel width a 285/40R22 or 295/40R22 might also work.

In 24" these are load rated.... (test fit recommended)
285/35R24 (~1.5" taller than stock)
295/35R24 (~1.7" taller than stock)

Do you know if 295/35/24 will scrub on the inner guards?

Re: Question

You may have some rubbing. We would recommend a test fit.

Here is a link to our tire calculator so you can see the tire size difference. Just plug in your stock size and click on compare.
