2007 5.7 MAP Sensor - where is it located?

I'm staring at this motor baffled at the fact that I cannot find the MAP sensor on a 2007 5.7... I have no manual for this vehicle and cannot find any diagram online that is remotely close to accurate for this motor / year / vehicle.

If anyone can help I'd appreciate it, at this point I'm almost convinced the dealer sold me the wrong part because I cannot find a matching sensor to what they gave me. Sort of makes sense I imagine seeing as how they sold me the wrong radiator cap during the same sale...

On a happier note, can anyone recommend a good source for a repair manual for a 2007 WK? I'd really prefer an electronic manual but aside from spending $200 for the REAL Mopar set, the options are limited so a book would do just as well I suppose. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THESE MANUALS SOLD BY "autoroyyy" on ebay - THEY ARE FAKE JUNK THAT IS ABSOLUTELY USELESS AND NOT THE OFFICIAL MOPAR MANUAL HE ADVERTISES THEM AS... no refund either.

5.7L Removal

The Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor (3) is mounted at the back of the intake manifold (4).

1. Disconnect electrical connector at sensor by sliding release lock out (1). Press down on lock tab (2) for removal.
2. Rotate sensor 1/4 turn counter-clockwise for removal.
3. Check condition of sensor o-ring.

Re: 2007 5.7 MAP Sensor - where is it located?

Thanks Robpp - I stumbled across it after finding a Mopar Parts catalog online last night that pointed me in the right direction, but your photos would have gotten me there a lot sooner. If you don't mind me asking, where are those photos / instructions sourced from so I can pick up that manual? Thank you again for the help - its amazing how close to accurate the "24/7" help comment is!

FYI - I was having intermittent stalling issues (wish i could say more, but it only stalled for her) and allegedly the new MAP sensor got her to work today for the first time in a long time without it stalling.

Re: 2007 5.7 MAP Sensor - where is it located?

Chris, I don't know of anyone that's tried cleaning it or, if so, what the results were. They're only about $25 for a new one though, and I'd be a lot more confident doing that. Also, the MAP Sensor is one of the primary sensors the PCM uses for calculating fuel mixture, using preprogrammed fuel tables. So yes, it would definitely affect performance and economy. In fact any one of the "key" sensors providing erroneous information to the PCM could cause performance and economy issues.

97GrandCherokee, I've seen three different types of MAP Sensors. The factory one that came on my 06 did not have a mounting lip. The one I got from O'Reilly's was slightly larger and would not install without hitting the manifold. It would have required a little filing of either the manifold or the sensor. The third type is the "factory replacement" from the dealer. It has a mounting lip on it, apparently for some other year/model. It requires cutting a tab off the manifold and/or cutting the mounting tab off the sensor. The dealer said the original number is outdated and no more are available.

Hello,
Thanks for the post if the part only cost 25 bucks I will change it.I changed the pvc valve it was covered in soot and oil.I did see some threads on google with people cleaning it on a jeep liberty. I have been getting better mpg since changing the pvc and spark plugs. If you know the part number let me know.

The MAP sensor for mine was MOPAR no. 5033310-AC.

Look here for your parts manual: http://www.wkjeeps.com/misc/Parts/2007_wk_parts.pdf Specifically, Fig 5.7L-820. Looks like the same part number for your '07.

Think it was about $25.
