05 wk to 08 wk Limited Cluster Swap

Sup guys.. I have a quick question regarding the gauge clusters..

I have an 05 wk and I wanna swap in the Gauge Cluster from the 08 Limited simply cuz I like the "tinted" look when its not on..

My question, Is it plug and play??
I know the mileage will be from the original wk it came from which isn't a problem..
I just want to make sure that everything lights up and work like it suppose to and not have any issues..

Isaac

if it might work it needs to be from the same trim level, eng, etc.

part numbers chgange in 08 for sure so I HIGHLY doubt it.

your 05 cant magically add the options and wires from a later MY.

Well yea that obivious on the wires and model.. I found one from an 08 Limited 5.7 and mines is an 05 Limited 5.7...

I didnt think this was "a stupid" question.. Hell I'm from the neon world.. You can put an 05 neon cluster in an 00 and everything works like it came the dealer that way... Hell even the srt cluster on a base model neon works flawlessly..

I asked cuz I honestly didnt/dont know.. This is my 1st Jeep.. Well 2nd cuz my girl has a Compass..

I'll find out myself eventually...

Was only trying to share.....

I had an 07 4.7. 05-07 3.7 and 4.7 could swap. 05-07 hemi could swap. Lot if that had to do with options. TPMS on limited show each tire pressure and nonlimited do not. Each cluster is different.

When you say you want it yo be tinted the same exactly what do you mean what are you trying to achieve
Maybe a different way there.

Far as I can tell the glass in front of the cluster is the same all years

^Thats the look I looking for..
The needles and numbers light up white when the truck is on..

It'll complete my "blackout" look..

Can you post a pic of yours cuz mines doesnt.. All it says is that it needs servicing along with the park assist..

Sometime this month, I plan on replacing the tire sensors and/or taking it to the dealer to see whats wrong..

robpp 05-11-2013 01:34 PM

I only know 05-07 and I know that there are at least 2 different clusters; on my 07 it said in the back 3.7/4.7 and hemi had another one.

Talk to diboblo maybe he can just change that faceplate or change the color of yours.

You have to press the "step" button until the tire pressure monitor system screen comes up. You should have it on your Limited.
